Strawberry and Macaroon Trifle

Strawberry and Macaroons covered in vanilla cream are perfect combo in this rich Christmas dessert. Personally, I am a huge fan of trying new things! I am  always looking for new and interesting recipes. And this dessert caught my eyes when I was planing my daughters birthday party. I knew right away that this is something I have to try to do. My guests were so impressed with the beauty and flavor of this dessert, and convinced me to share this recipe with all of you, as it would be a great addition to your holiday table. It will work great without macaroons too, but if you are a macaroon lover – even better:).

Ingredient:

12 plastic cups

10 fresh strawberries

1 pack 6 oz strawberry jello

12 good macaroons

200 gr sour cream

4 oz cool wheap

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla

2 packs unflavored gelatin Knox

150 gr water

  1. Prepare jello according to package directions. I would recommend to add less water as it is written on a box. About 3 cups would work great. With 4 cups of water it would be kind of runny. Let the jello cool down.
  2. Pour jello into a cups and drop sliced strawberries into it. Put it in the refrigerator to chill 1 hour or until it is  thicken.
  3. When the red part is ready, lets do some fun. Place macaroons very close to one of the sides of the cup. The idea is to see a little piece of macaroon sticking out under vanilla cream.  Time to make Vanilla Cream. I use the same cream as for my Chocolate Cherry Roll but smaller amount.

4. Sprinkle gelatin over cold water in small cup; stir well (make sure you do not get small chunks) and let stand while preparing the cream.

5. Mix together sugar +sour cream + vanilla. DO NOT OVER MIX. I use my hand mixer and mixing for about 30 sec.

6. Add cool whip and mix until well mixed (30 more sec aprox)

7. Heat gelatin in microwave occasionally mixing with a spoon (about 30 seconds-1 minute) DO NOT boil.

8. Now work really fast. Pour gelatin into cream mixture and mix well about 15 second. Pour Vanilla Cream over half of the macaroon. Leave a small piece uncovered with cream. Place sugared cranberries on the top and refrigerate overnight or until ready to serve.

You may decorate this dessert with fresh cut in half strawberries or any other fruits you have in mind:)

Merry Christmas!!!

This looks amazing! I bought everything to make this dessert but I looked everywhere for the cups and can’t find them. Where did you find your cups?
