Grilled Lamb Chops

Tender and flavorful Lamb Chops grilled to perfection. Marinade is super simple but the taste is absolutely delicious.

I was not a big fan of lamb at all in the past. Some of my friends even brought lamb over, pretending that it was beef so I can try it, but as soon as the meat was in my mouth, I knew right away that it was lamb, because of its strong flavor. For my husband, lamb is the best and number one dish at restaurants. Because I know how much he loves lamb, few years ago, I decided to grill my own kind of lamb chops. I’ve been looking for a perfect recipe online, but wasn’t satisfied with ingredients enough to try it. I started asking some of my friends who are very skilled in  grilling lamb, then I tried to combine all the important tips and came out with this recipe.

The truth is, if people that dislike lamb, had a taste of a good/ properly cooked lamb chop, they would change their minds. I was one of these people that really disliked lamb, until I had my first grilling. After I shockingly watched my whole family enjoy the lamb chops and were even asking for more, my husband asked me try it, so I did. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious and perfectly seasoned my first ever lamb chops turned out.

From that time, lamb is on our menu almost every other week. This recipe is definitely a keeper. Every time I’m hosting and making lamb chops, I get many compliments and my guests are asking to share my Recipe. So here you go my dear friends:)

🛑Whats important in this recipe?!🛑

1. Fresh and high quality chops. If you are buying lamb chops, make sure the meat doesn’t look teel and when you open the plastic, the smell should not be strong. Why I’m saying this, is because sometimes, I can buy 2 separate pieces of lamb chops at the same place but one has no smell at all, while the other might have a very strong smell. That way you might want to soak it in beer overnight to get rid of that smell.

2. Do not be greedy with onions. Lamb loves onions. It’s better to add extra, than not enough 🙂

3. And the last but not least is to grill it to medium rare. As the result you will get tender meat that will melt in your mouth.

Try this recipe and you will not regret it!

Ingredients:

2lb fresh lamb chops

2 cups onion, chopped

3 tbsp light olive oil

1/4 cup distilled white vinegar

2 tbsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

4 garlic cloves, minced

1 tbsp fresh rosemary leaves (optional)

1. Wash and dry each lamb chop.

2. Mix well all the ingredients, except the meat. Pour marinade over the meat and massage each chop, so the marinade can soak into the meat. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinade for 2 hours in the refrigerator, mix occasionally.

3. About an hour before you are ready to grill, set the chops out, so they could get to room temperature. Heat up the grill to medium-high and grill chops to medium rare, about 7-10 minutes a side. Transfer to a pot and let them rest covered with a lid for at least 5 minutes.

Serve warm.
