Turkey Basil Panini (Sandwich)
Its been a while since I first tried a panini at some café. I remember enjoying it, and thinking that I can recreate this at home and spoil my family whenever we want without going out. This panini is such an easy breakfast, lunch or dinner, since they are completely customizable. While my husband and I prefer the onions and tomatoes, our kids love a simple turkey and cheese panini. I’m just happy with the fact that my kids are getting some nutritious cheese in the process.
Result is a delicious toasted sandwich filled with warm meat and cheese, full of flavor and a light hint of fresh basil.
Ingredients:
(for 2 sandwiches)
2 ciabatta sandwich roll, split
6 thintly sliced turkey breast
2 slices of Havarti cheese
2 slices of red onions
2 slices of wine tomatoes
1/2 cup mayo
- Spread the mayo on the insides of each roll.
2. On the bottom of each roll top with a slices of meat (3 slices for each sandwich), layer of onions, layer of tomatoes and few leaves of fresh basil, and top it with a slice of Havarti cheese . place the top of the roll on top and use a hot panini press to press the sandwich together for about 1 to 2 minutes.
Enjoy it warm.
